- Get ready to hold on, because this turbo kit will make your Polaris General turn into a monster! If you are wanting simply stupid power in your General, you've found it. This is a low PSI, high air volume turbo kit which makes it safe to run on the stock motor at 6-7 PSI of boost and adds another 40-45 rear wheel horsepower. Stock we dyno'd at 74-76 RWHP and turbocharged on 6-7 PSI we settled in with a safe 115-120 RWHP. If we do some math to calculate that into crank horsepower, we are around 150-160 Crank horsepower..... that's more than a factory 2016 RZR turbo! Since we are not lowering compression or restricting the exhaust/intake with a small turbocharger, this kit is still absolutely wicked off the line with no turbo lag.
- Kit includes: Turbocharger, oil feed and return lines, oil return scavenge pump, head pipe to turbo exhaust, rear mounted turbo muffler, spark arrestor, PV3 with AA custom tune, big injectors, 3 bar map sensor, charge tubes, intake tube, silicone couplers, AA catch can, AA S2 clutch kit and all needed fittings/clamps.
- The Tuning - this is where we change the game with aftermarket turbo kits! Typically turbo kits are used with a Power Commander or other fuel controllers which trick injector and coil signals to do what is needed. This is a much simpler way to tune, but not the right way and can provided mixed results with constant tweaking. The stock ECU has many torque/airflow limits put in place and everything is built off modeled airflow. Installing a turbo drastically changes how everything is calculated, and without changing it the right way (inside the ECU), it's tough to get things dialed. We put in a HUGE amount of time to make a calibration for the stock ECU (Loaded via the Power Vision tuner over the diagnostic port) that will act correctly and compensate for altitude and temps, while getting around all factory limitations. Our timing curves are also built for a turbo which allows us to tune for great low end punch, and taper off timing up top when the pressure rises and the turbo takes over. What you get from purchasing the turbo kit from us is a smooth, almost stock running General Turbo.... just with WAY more power.
- Easy installation if you are mechanically inclined. Bolts right on to your factory head pipe and mounts nicely under the bed. If you have a rear view camera, you may need to mount it over a few inches for proper fitment.
- Adds 40-45 RWHP / 50-60 crank horsepower
- Non-intercooled setup. The great part about low boost and high volume air is lower air temps! This means no need for an intercooler. Our tuning is also properly setup to work with this system as non-intercooled. Factory tuning de-rates timing drastically with higher intake temps. Our timing curve and intake temp based timing corrections are all modified to work properly with a turbocharger.
- 91-93 octane fuel required. Higher octane (94-96) is okay to run and is always cheap insurance if you know you're going to be driving hard. If wanting to run race fuel (100-110 octane), let us know and we can help with a custom setup.
- Optional 1.5" Quiet Core: This would be used in place of the Spark Arrestor and knocks dB down quite a bit for more of a stock sound. It does lose 10 RWHP but still runs very well. This core necks the outlet down from 2.5" to 1.5". While we've had no problems, we don't suggest holding it wide open throttle for long pulls as this 1.5" core holds more heat in. 0-60 MPH bursts are no problem at all. If running hard, we suggest running the Spark Arrestor or the outlet wide open.
- Optional Wideband AFR module: This allows you to see air/fuel ratios (AFR) on your PV3 gauge, if you choose to mount it. These engines do not have knock protection, so if the vehicle starts to go lean (usually bad injectors or bad fuel pump) you would not know it. While this usually would kill power and not take the engine down, you do run the risk with a boosted application. This module would allows monitoring to make sure AFR is between 11.5 and 12.2 at wide open throttle.
- Includes a 3 bar map sensor that installs in place of the factory one in your air plenum (plastic plenum under the bed)
